Over 500 megabytes of pure synth sounds. Includes many of the most sought after Moog sounds: FX voices, basses, fat pads & great leads. The Minimoog is probably the most classic synth ever. It’s rich powerful sound comes from circuits that have been copied, but never successfully, by countless manufacturers. The only thing that can match a MiniMoog, is another MiniMoog. When we started our cooperation with David Morley, who owns so many vintage synths that he could open a museum, we agreed that the first thing that we should do, was to sample the Minimoog.

The goal was to make a piano that works in a mix, that is, together with other instruments in a studio environment. To do this, I needed a piano with a well contoured treble and a distinct, but not muddy, bass.It’s a big (275 Cm) Malmsjo Grand from the mid 1920’s. I love this instrument because of the warm tone it has and I suspected that this would be suitable for this purpose.
The idea was to make a piano with a very distinct tone, that would not lose its warmth during the process.

All of the samples in this library were performed by Rekevics on vintage Selmer Mark VI saxes, and each instrument was sampled chromatically over its full range. The sustained patches (vibrato and nonvibrato) have four Velocity layers each; most of the others have two.
To maximize versatility, developer John Thomas recorded the samples in mono and stereo. For the mono recordings, he used a Neumann condenser mic in a traditional close-mic setup and ran the mic through a custom tube preamp to capture the warmth of early mono recordings. For the stereo samples, he used a matched pair of Shure KSM32 condenser mics and a solid-state preamp.
